After
making a successful debut last year, 2018, with their fixed wing design, Team NUST AirWorks introduced a new vehicle in the competition; a helicopter, a daunting task not taken up by any team before. The three day event saw many promising teams taking part and putting in their best efforts. However, it was the Helicopter design from team NUST AirWorks that won the team the honor of being awarded GRAND CHAMPIONS for the year 2019. Apart from being the overall competition winners, they also won awards in the following categories:
- Safety & Airworthiness (sponsored by Frazer-Nash Consultancy)
- Business Proposition (sponsored by Welsh Government)
- Scrutineers Award
- Media Engagement Award
The team’s sheer dedication and diligent efforts in the months leading up to the competition truly paid off in the end. Even the chief Judge of the event commended the entire unit for excellent team organisation and airworthy procedures. The hugely successful event was a testament to all of this, making the Pakistani nation extremely proud for raising the flag in an international arena!
